The Queer Window Project venue mapIn December 2012 Lucy Asten Holmes-Elliott was commissioned by Creative Scotland as part of the LGBT History Month Cultural Commissions to create The Queer Window Project. It’s launching Friday 31st May and it would be great if you could make it! The Queer Window Project set out to represent and celebrate Scotland’s gay and queer community. The people featured in the pictures all responded to a call put out by Lucy where they were invited to participate in a photo shoot with the intention that some of the photos would form the basis of illustrations. The output from the project is a collection of 30 photographs and 15 large-scale illustrations. As an alternative to gallery exhibition, the illustrations will be hung in a range of venues throughout the city during June and July. The project will be an interactive ‘treasure trail’ style exhibit throughout the city. The map below represents the first batch of seven released around the city, use it to carve your own route through the venues and use this website to keep up with the locations of the next eight instalments of the project.
